On June 19, Wesco organized its annual global Day of Caring events to reinforce its dedication to the communities where its employees live and work. The occasion also marked the announcement of the 2025 Wesco Cares Champion of the Year Award winner.

The Day of Caring inspired team members to engage in community service and explore local volunteer opportunities. Employees also learned more about Wesco’s charitable initiatives, including its matching gift program, paid volunteer time off, and corporate partnerships with nonprofits such as the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. Events were held at multiple Wesco locations worldwide, drawing participation from nearly 5,000 employees and over 60 nonprofit organizations. So far this year, through the Wesco Cares initiative, employees have contributed nearly 1,000 volunteer hours and, with company matching, donated over $210,000—benefiting close to 200 charitable causes.

As part of the celebration, Wesco named Scott Carstens, Senior Operations Manager at the Charlotte, North Carolina facility, as the 2025 Wesco Cares Champion of the Year. This award honors employees who make a significant difference in their communities through service and advocacy.

Scott actively volunteers with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Best Buddies, Goodwill, the Wounded Warrior Foundation, and Second Harvest Food Bank. A retired U.S. Marine with 27 years of service, Scott holds the Wounded Warrior Foundation especially close. Reflecting on his volunteer work, he shared, “Big waves begin as small ripples. I strive to be a ripple that brings positive change to others.” As this year’s award recipient, Scott will receive $2,500 to donate to an eligible charity of his choosing.

“We’re honored to celebrate Scott as our Wesco Cares Champion of the Year,” said Chris Wolf, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Wesco Cares Executive Sponsor. “Scott’s passion for service and community impact sets a powerful example. His dedication encourages others throughout the company to give back and make a difference.”
