Wendy's Celebrates ‘National Chili Day’ By Paying Tribute To Its Sustainable ‘Signature Menu’

02/27/2018

Wendy’s created its sustainable recipe “ahead” of time, as it inherits a history withstanding the changing time.

Dailycsr.com – 27 February 2018 – Liliana Esposito writes that one can say “something” when it comes to the “level of comfort” attached to a “bowl of chilli”. At Wendy’s menu list, if the restaurant wishes to snuggle anything, Esposito reports that it would keep chilli at the top of the list.

However, it’s not about “big ole’ bowl of chili by the fire on a cold winter night”. Wendy’s takes a diversion on the “National Chili Day” to explore the history of “signature item” which decorates the menu of Wendy since the “early days” of the restaurant.

Enumerating the delicious difference of “Wendy’s Chili Recipe”, Esposito opens up about the recipe’s “desirable” secret amid its simple core ingredients. Wendy’s pays attention in “blending our signature beef with the perfect mix of hearty vegetables, chili beans and savory spices”, whereby delivering with a “satisfying and sentimental” taste “the perfect comfort food anytime of the year” summing up all the feelings in “every bite”.

Creating great beef with Wendy’s “robust history” is a great responsibility. Talking about the said history, Esposito explains in short:
“Being a resourceful man – and a little ahead of his time – Dave Thomas inherently understood the concept of food recovery. And by building the brand on the promise of serving fresh, never frozen beef*, Dave knew his hamburgers would have a shorter shelf-life. He even asked himself, ‘what do you do with the leftover hamburger?’ The answer was simple: combine the beef we use for our hamburgers with a hearty helping of vegetables, chili beans and a dash of spice”.

It has not been easy to come out with the “perfect chilli recipe”. Dave had to go through “many marathon cooking sessions” to create “a sustainable solution” for a “delicious menu item” which would stand “the test of time”, whereby carving a “special place” in the customers’ heart.

Furthermore, Esposito added:
“A large-serving size of our chili is packed with 23g of protein and 5g of fiber, with only 250 calories. And while we can’t speak for its medicinal merit, it’s been known to cure almost every craving and remedy a few bad days. Simply put, it’s a taste that lets you reminisce and keeps you coming back for more”.
