Personar, the award-winning sports AI company, has announced the appointment of Ugo Mola as Senior Advisor. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern rugby, Mola has overseen the rise of Stade Toulousain into Europe’s pre-eminent club and will now support Personar’s growth within global rugby and other professional sports.
Since taking charge in 2015, Mola has led Stade Toulousain through a remarkable period of sustained success. During his tenure, the club has captured five Top 14 titles (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025) and lifted the European Rugby Champions Cup twice (2021 and 2024). Toulouse has also maintained an extraordinary record in finals, remaining unbeaten in every championship match since 2008, with ten consecutive final victories. With 24 Bouclier de Brennus trophies and six European titles, the club is the most successful in European rugby history.
Mola is known for a coaching approach built on attacking play, long-term player development and exceptional squad depth. Under his guidance, academy graduates such as Antoine Dupont, Romain Ntamack and Julien Marchand have progressed into world-class international players. His expertise in balancing individual performance with collective culture closely mirrors Personar’s vision to transform coaching analysis, communication and decision-making through its newly launched platform, CoachScribe.
“Ugo Mola sets the benchmark for excellence in elite rugby coaching,” said Adrian Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of Personar. “His achievements at Stade Toulousain are nothing short of historic. He has built a legacy through outstanding tactical leadership, elite talent development and a culture that delivers success year after year. His perspective on the demands of top-level coaching will be critical as we scale CoachScribe across rugby and the wider professional sports market. This collaboration reflects our commitment to learning from the very best in the game.”
“In today’s rugby environment, outcomes are often decided by the smallest details and the briefest moments,” said Mola. “What draws me to Personar is their focus on audio intelligence. Rugby is fundamentally a game of communication, and the exchanges between coaches and players can be decisive. Personar’s technology uncovers insights that video alone cannot capture. I’m excited to support their work with clubs around the world and to help shape how technology continues to elevate our sport.”
Mola’s playing career was equally impressive. A versatile winger and full-back, he was part of Stade Toulousain’s dominant squad of the 1990s, helping secure three successive French championships (1994–1996) and the club’s first European Cup in 1996. He also represented France on 12 occasions, featured in the 1999 Rugby World Cup final, and scored six tries at international level.
This appointment highlights Personar’s continued expansion into rugby, building on its established presence across elite sports including Formula 1 and the Premier League. In his advisory role, Mola will contribute to the evolution of CoachScribe, ensuring it addresses the specific demands of rugby coaching, while also supporting the development of strategic partnerships with leading rugby organisations worldwide.
