UN names Arbor Day Foundation as Restoration Campaign Support Partner

The United Nations Environment Programme has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to support the critical movement to increase global sustainability efforts. The Arbor Day Foundation has recently been named a supporting partner in the United Nations' Decade on Ecosystem Restoration initiative.

The 10-year campaign, which will begin in 2021, will develop a focused strategy to combat climate change around the world. As a supporting partner of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, the Foundation will assist in the development of evidence-based recommendations for the world's leading environmental experts, thereby broadening the scope of the U.N.'s impact.

“The large-scale scope of the U.N.’s commitment requires a bold group of environmental stakeholders all working together, and the Arbor Day Foundation is excited to do its part,” said Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.

“We hope our learnings from having planted trees in communities and forests around the world for more than 50 years can help this critical campaign as it seeks to create a better world for future generations.”
