The Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals (ACCP), a prominent advocate for corporate social impact experts in the United States, has revealed that Lynette Bell, the President of Truist Foundation, has received the Trailblazer Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership in the field of corporate social impact.

This prestigious accolade was conferred at ACCP's annual Purpose Awards event in 2023, held in collaboration with Rocket Social Impact. The Trailblazer Award is dedicated to honoring professionals in the realm of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) who have made significant contributions to both their organizations and the broader community.

“As the leading advocate for our profession, ACCP is thrilled to shine a spotlight on exemplary leaders like Lynette who are making a difference in the field of corporate social responsibility,” said ACCP President and CEO Carolyn Berkowitz.

“Her dedication and innovative approaches to the work inspire us all as she represents what’s truly possible when business and social goals align creatively."

Lynette Bell holds the position of President at Truist Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Truist, a financial services company dedicated to promoting positive change and enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities.

Since the establishment of the Foundation in 2020, Bell's leadership has played a pivotal role in steering the Board's approval of over $170 million in grants aimed at benefiting local communities. Earlier this year, Bell led her team in the launch of a noteworthy initiative known as "Where It Starts." This initiative is strategically designed to drive substantial improvements for entrepreneurs and job seekers in underserved communities by developing innovative programs that facilitate opportunities for growth and achievement.

“ACCP’s recent CSR Insights Report shows the demands and responsibilities of CSR professionals continue to increase,” said Rich Maiore, CEO & Founder of Rocket Social Impact. “It’s critical we recognize the multiple positive contributions CSR and ESG professionals are making within their company and communities.”

The Trailblazer Award is a prestigious accolade that celebrates a seasoned CSR professional whose leadership, strategic initiatives, and collaborations have led to substantial positive effects on both business and society. In her role as President of Truist Foundation, Lynette Bell has skillfully forged meaningful and pioneering partnerships rooted in the principles of purpose-driven philanthropy, with the aim of advancing underserved communities.

The recipients of this year's Purpose Awards were selected by distinct panels of judges, which included past Purpose Award honorees and prominent figures from the CSR and ESG sectors. These distinguished committees made the final decisions in recognizing outstanding achievements in the field.
