Tata Trusts attempts to invest in researches in the food supply chain of India along with Mars Food.


Dailycsr.com – 22 January 2016 – The “philanthropic coalition” of Tata Trusts and the food giant Mars came together in a “Memorandum of Understanding” whereby the duo will work in collaboration towards the development of “advance agriculture” besides addressing the problems of malnutrition and improving the food safety issues in India.
 
Both the organisations have their agendas on conducting “joint research” that deal s with the topic of “nutritional guidelines”, whereby focusing on developing tools and means of increasing the productivity of crops. On the long run, it will prove to be an endeavour that will be a helping hand for addressing malnutrition related diseases like anaemia amongst others.
 
Moreover, the duo of Tata Trust and Mars has plans up their sleeves, whereby they will strive towards “reducing Aflatoxin contamination” from the supply chain of India. According to Ethicalperformance.com:
“Aflatoxin – a naturally occurring, poisonous chemical produced by certain molds – is a critical food safety issue in India”.
