TCS Inspires Girls with STEM Learning Experience at Miami E-Prix

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global provider of IT services, consulting, and business solutions, recently organized a STEM-focused learning experience for middle school students from HIVE Preparatory School at the Miami International Autodrome, ahead of the Miami E-Prix. The initiative, part of TCS’s corporate social responsibility program, aimed to inspire girls to explore careers in STEM and built on similar outreach activities held last year at the Homestead-Miami Speedway with students from Girls, Inc. and HIVE Preparatory School.

Before visiting the racetrack, students viewed behind-the-scenes “Ignite My Future” videos to prepare for the experience. At the venue, they toured the Jaguar TCS Racing garage, engaged with team members, observed rookie free practice sessions, and learned how STEM concepts are applied in motorsports.

Throughout the day, participants gained insight into the technical skills involved in racing and manufacturing, witnessing firsthand the collaboration and expertise required for success both on and off the track. The experience generated enthusiasm and curiosity, with students expressing admiration for the professionals they met and the STEM topics they explored.

“Experiencing STEM in action at the track helps girls understand what careers in STEM really look like. They see real people working together to solve problems and can imagine themselves developing those same skills,” said Kelli Recher, TCS Ignite My Future Global Innovation Lead. “From meeting engineers to asking questions and seeing the passion people bring to STEM, the impact on students is incredibly meaningful.”
