T-Mobile Leads the Way in Renewable Energy and Climate Action at COP27

08/01/2023

Climate change is mainly caused by the way we produce and use energy, and T-Mobile is committed to using only renewable electricity sources to provide connectivity services.

At COP27 last year, leaders had to confront the urgent challenges of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and devise plans to achieve various objectives. Besides the climate, they also had to consider other aspects, such as the social effects of droughts and floods—a consequence of the current pace of climate change—and the financial strategies to fund projects that will reduce our impacts on the earth.

The Conference of the Parties (COP) initiative encourages businesses to present their plans to reduce their climate impacts and establish programs and partnerships that are consistent with global goals. T-Mobile was one of the first to do this, as it developed a strategy as early as 2018; and set ambitious goals to source 100% renewable electricity in 2021.
