The specific aim of the campaign is to “provide solar powered lights, mobile phone chargers and hand powered washers”, as many still do not have powers or even “basic resources”.

While, the Schneider Electric’s North America’s chief executive officer as well as the president, Annette Clayton, said:
“The after effects of Hurricane Maria have left much of Puerto Rico without access to power – with some projections that full grid restoration will take many months to achieve. At Schneider Electric, we believe access to energy is a fundamental human right, and Salvador's grassroots campaign is directly in line with that belief. We're pleased to support the Light and Hope campaign as the citizens of Puerto Rico continue to recover and rebuild their energy resources.”

According to Schneider Electric:
“The Mobiya portable, water-resistant LED lighting systems with accompanying solar panels provide up to 48 hours of lighting with one day of solar charge and can also be used to charge mobile devices. Equipped with a universal charging cable, Mobiya lamps can also be charged by any USB port”.
