01/23/2024

Sofidel, a prominent global supplier of paper products for personal and household use, has been recognized with the Ann Hunter-Welborn Circle of Excellence Award for its Papernet, featuring the innovative HyTech Seas dispensers. This accolade, bestowed by Hunter Industries, acknowledges companies that have demonstrated substantial contributions to social responsibility and sustainability.

Warren Gorowitz, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Hunter Industries, emphasized the importance of achieving equilibrium between the impact on people, the planet, and profits. He expressed enthusiasm in honoring Sofidel for its unwavering commitment to sustainability, particularly through the implementation of the HyTech Seas dispensers.

Sofidel's dedication to sustainability is evident in its groundbreaking efforts to combat ocean plastic pollution. By engaging in extensive research and development, the company retrieves plastic waste from the ocean and transforms it into the HyTech Seas dispensers designed for hand towels and toilet paper. Remarkably, a single ton of ocean plastic waste can yield 484 hand towel dispensers and 582 toilet paper dispensers.

Luigi Lazzareschi, CEO of Sofidel, highlighted the company's overarching focus on sustainability and social responsibility. He expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing that the award serves as a testament to Sofidel's ongoing commitment to shaping a more sustainable future.

The prestigious award was presented to Sofidel's CEO, Luigi Lazzareschi, during an event held on November 14 at the 2023 ISSA Show North America.
