Saint-Gobain and Good360 Provide 500 Welcome Home Kits for South Carolina Families
Saint-Gobain, through its Norton Abrasives division, has joined forces with Good360—a nonprofit dedicated to addressing critical community needs—and the City of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, to create “welcome home” kits stocked with basic household supplies for 500 families in the state. Good360 will deliver the kits to two local partner organizations: Darlington County Long Term Recovery in Society Hill, which will distribute them to families returning to repaired or newly built homes after being displaced by Hurricane Helene, and Homes of Hope in Greenville, which will share them with families facing economic hardship.

The initiative aligns with Saint-Gobain’s mission of Making the World a Better Home. Through the Saint-Gobain North America Foundation, the company supports communities where its employees live and work. Since becoming national partners, Saint-Gobain North America and Good360 have collaborated across the U.S. and Canada to distribute essential supplies to those in need.

Norton Abrasives has been part of the Travelers Rest community since 1982, and its local team was eager to contribute to hurricane relief efforts. With backing from the City of Travelers Rest—including use of Trailblazer Park as an assembly site—nearly 40 volunteers, including Saint-Gobain employees and city staff, worked for more than three hours to assemble 500 kits filled with necessities such as dish soap, laundry detergent, and kitchen towels.

“Hurricane Helene left lasting damage that continues to affect many families nearly a year later. Having been part of this community for over four decades, Saint-Gobain and Norton are committed to supporting our neighbors who have always stood by us,” said Russell Hunter, Plant Manager at the Norton Abrasives facility. “We’re grateful to Good360 for their leadership, the City of Travelers Rest for their support, and our nonprofit partners for ensuring these kits reach families who need them most.”

Mayor Brandy Amidon of Travelers Rest added: “We’re thankful for Saint-Gobain’s commitment to our community and proud to see their mission of Making the World a Better Home in action here. They’ve been a long-standing partner in our city, and this initiative highlights that ongoing dedication.”

Cinira Baldi, CEO of Good360, emphasized the broader impact: “Hurricane Helene continues to challenge communities across South Carolina, and Good360 is dedicated to long-term recovery. These welcome home kits represent more than just supplies—they’re a sign of resilience and compassion. Working with partners like Saint-Gobain and the City of Travelers Rest ensures families aren’t left behind as they rebuild their lives.”

This effort builds on Saint-Gobain’s broader support for disaster recovery. Following the destruction caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, the company launched an employee donation-matching program that raised over $30,000 for Good360’s relief initiatives. Since becoming partners in 2023, Saint-Gobain North America and Good360 have provided essential kits to communities across North America, including those served by nonprofits in Little Rock (Arkansas), New Orleans (Louisiana), Akron (Ohio), Mississauga (Ontario), and Philadelphia (Pennsylvania).
