PSIC Provides $45 Million Financing to Novilla RNG for Dairy Renewable Gas Expansion

06/29/2026

Power Sustainable Infrastructure Credit (PSIC) has finalized a US$45 million senior secured financing agreement with Novilla RNG, a fully integrated developer, owner, and operator of dairy renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across the United States.

The funding will be used to support Novilla's expansion plans, including the development of two new greenfield dairy RNG facilities in South Dakota, while also accelerating the company's broader project pipeline. Novilla's operations focus on capturing methane emissions from dairy farms and converting them into pipeline-grade renewable natural gas, contributing to methane reduction efforts and supplying low-carbon energy to transportation and utility sectors.

Established in 2021, Novilla manages the entire lifecycle of dairy RNG projects—from design and permitting to construction, ownership, and operations. As of June 2026, the company operates five projects nationwide. Its leadership team brings together more than a century of combined experience in renewable natural gas and infrastructure development. Since its founding, Novilla has been backed by ERA Partners LLC, an infrastructure investment firm that supports asset-intensive businesses providing essential services throughout the North American lower middle market.

"Novilla has distinguished itself through a highly disciplined approach to developing a unique dairy RNG platform, supported by strong technical expertise and a growing portfolio of quality assets," said Benjamin Shenwick, Principal at PSIC. "We are excited to support the company's continued expansion as additional projects come online and believe Novilla is well-positioned to create long-term value for its partners and stakeholders."

Jared Williams, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Novilla RNG, noted that the financing provides the flexibility needed to advance projects currently under construction while continuing to expand the company's development pipeline. He added that PSIC's experience in infrastructure credit and deep understanding of the renewable natural gas sector make it an ideal financing partner as Novilla continues to scale its dairy RNG operations across the United States.

The investment aligns with PSIC's ongoing strategy of delivering customized financing solutions to infrastructure businesses that enhance resource efficiency and contribute to the global energy transition. The firm partners with companies and management teams operating across key infrastructure sectors, including energy, transportation and logistics, digital infrastructure, social infrastructure, utilities, and recycling. This transaction marks PSIC's tenth investment across North America and follows the successful closing of its inaugural global fund, bringing total capital committed to the strategy to more than US$1 billion.
