Owens Corning: Leading in Sustainability and Recognized by DJSI for 14th Year

12/18/2023

Owens Corning has secured its position on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the 14th year in a row and on the DJSI North America Index for six years running, boasting top-tier evaluation scores.

The DJSI World is an exclusive list of the globe’s largest corporations, chosen based on their long-term commitment to environmental, social, and governance standards. Part of the selection process for the DJSI involves the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) scores. In the 2023 S&P Global CSA (evaluated on Dec. 8, 2023), Owens Corning achieved an impressive score of 85 out of a possible 100 points, the highest among all evaluated companies in the building products sector.

Brian Chambers, Chair and CEO, expressed his gratitude for the company’s 14th consecutive recognition by the DJSI. He attributed their leading score to Owens Corning’s steadfast dedication to sustainability and their ongoing efforts towards their 2030 sustainability objectives. The company continues to focus on offering sustainable solutions to their clients and making a positive global impact.

In addition to the DJSI recognition, Owens Corning received several other accolades for its corporate sustainability leadership this year. These include a top 10 ranking for the sixth consecutive year on 3BL Media’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list and being named one of the 2023 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere.

David Rabuano, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, expressed his pride in Owens Corning’s industry-leading sustainability efforts, particularly when acknowledged through recognitions like the DJSI. He emphasized that the company’s 19,000 employees are the driving force behind their success.

As a leader in the global building and construction materials industry, Owens Corning is dedicated to providing sustainable solutions. More information about its initiatives and advancements can be found in its 17th annual Sustainability Report, which was published earlier this year.
