Neem Extract Market to Reach USD 4.37 Billion by 2031

05/25/2026

The global neem extract industry is expected to witness strong growth over the coming years. According to Mordor Intelligence, the market is estimated at USD 2.69 billion in 2026 and is forecast to reach USD 4.37 billion by 2031, registering a CAGR of 10.19%. Increasing demand for plant-derived ingredients in agriculture and cosmetic applications is contributing significantly to market expansion. In India, the government’s mandatory neem-coated fertilizer initiative continues to drive substantial consumption, utilizing nearly 17,000 tons of neem oil each year.

Supply-side challenges are also shaping the industry landscape. By the end of 2025, dieback disease had affected more than 60% of mature neem trees in Telangana, leading to greater dependence on imports from East African countries. At the same time, Europe’s goal of cutting chemical pesticide usage by 50% before 2030 is encouraging wider adoption of neem-based biopesticides and boosting investments in solvent-free extraction technologies.

Neem Extract Market Outlook and Key Trends
Rising Demand for Herbal and Clean-Label Personal Care Products
Consumer preference for natural and chemical-free beauty products continues to grow, prompting manufacturers to incorporate neem extracts into skincare, wellness, and personal-care formulations. Advancements in extraction methods, combined with supportive cosmetic regulations, are enhancing the appeal of neem in high-end organic product lines. Brands are also emphasizing neem’s eco-friendly characteristics to attract sustainability-focused consumers.

Increasing Adoption of Neem-Based Solutions in Sustainable Agriculture
The shift toward environmentally responsible farming practices is accelerating the use of neem-derived crop protection products. Neem extracts are widely favored in organic farming due to their natural pest-control properties and reduced reliance on synthetic agrochemicals. Government initiatives promoting organic agriculture, along with innovation in product delivery systems, are further supporting market growth.

Government Support for Neem-Coated Fertilizers
Policies encouraging the use of neem-coated fertilizers are maintaining consistent demand for neem oil and related derivatives. These initiatives help improve fertilizer efficiency, enhance crop yields, and support sustainable farming practices. However, shortages in domestic raw material supply are forcing manufacturers to increasingly source neem inputs from African markets.

According to Himanshu Vasisht, Senior Research Manager at Mordor Intelligence, growing interest in plant-based agricultural and personal-care ingredients continues to shape developments across the neem extract sector. He noted that the firm’s research approach combines industry insights with multi-regional market monitoring to provide more dependable strategic analysis.
