Ministry of Defence Awards CBRE with ERS Gold Award

Demonstrating the positive aspects and the “beneficial impact” on the employers for promoting “Armed Forces community” employment irrespective of location, size and sector.


Dailycsr.com – 05 October 2021 – CBRE is the “global real estate advisor” from UK, which has been recognised by the Ministry of Defence as the latter was awarded with the “Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award”, whereby marking CBRE the first among “property services provider” to earn the said accolade.
 
The above mentioned recognition is given the organisation which support and employ veterans and their families. Moreover, in order to bag an award, organisations have to be able to give “ten extra paid days leave for Reservists” besides practicing “supportive HR policies” applicable to “veterans, Reserves, and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers” and extending further the same to the “spouses and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces”.
 
Furthermore, organisations need to also promote the benefits of being a support to the ones working in the “Armed Forces community”, whereby spreading the word of encouragement for more people to join “the Armed Forces Covenant” besides engaging in the “Employer Recognition Scheme”.
 
In the words of Leo Docherty, the minister of defence people and veterans:
“I would like to thank all the organisations who have proven their support for the Defence community during such unprecedented and challenging times. The vast range of those recognised this year demonstrates how employing the Armed Forces community makes a truly positive and beneficial impact for all employers, regardless of size, sector or location.”
 
While, the “Divisional President, Advisory Services” at CBRE “UK & Ireland”, Ciaran Bird stated:
“We recognise that those who have served in the Armed Forces – or continue to serve in some capacity – bring valuable skillsets and ways of thinking to our industry and we are delighted that our efforts in professionally supporting this community have been recognised. CBRE’s Armed Forces Network has been integral in our journey to the Gold Award and I encourage other organisations to consider forming a similar community”.
 
In a press release of CBRE, the co-chairperson of “CBRE’s Armed Forces Network”, Will Church was quoted saying:
“We are thrilled to have been recognised as an exemplar within our industry, and the first real estate practice to have received the ERS Gold Award. CBRE’s approach to the defence community will continue to bring real benefits to veterans, reservists and families, and to our business. Now we have the opportunity to work with and support others in our industry in stepping up their defence community activity”.
