Maximus Foundation: Empowering Employees for Community Impact
Andre Price, serving as a Foundation Ambassador and a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, carries a guiding principle in his daily life. He firmly believes in the concept that while an individual may not be able to assist everyone, each person can make a difference in someone else's life, fostering a cycle of support and kindness.

Andre's journey with Maximus began approximately 13 years ago when he joined as a Supervisor for the Cook County Child Support Modification Project, catering to the needs of the largest urban area in Illinois. Today, in his role as the Project Manager for Illinois Modification and Employer Related Services, he applies the expertise he has gained and his deep-seated commitment to community service to serve as a co-lead for the Foundation ambassador program within the Midwest region.

His initial involvement with the Foundation stemmed from participating in grantee partner award ceremonies, where he had the opportunity to personally deliver grant award checks to deserving organizations. This experience ignited his interest in learning more about the Foundation and its grantmaking initiatives. In 2021, Andre's dedication to the cause led him to transition from an ambassador to a regional co-lead, spurred by the encouragement of his manager, Nancy Kim, to increase engagement with the Foundation within the Chicago office.

Andre's overarching goal is to enhance local support for the Foundation while providing avenues for employees, regardless of their work setup, to give back to their communities. He has continually drawn inspiration from his involvement as an ambassador, particularly cherishing memories such as organizing a successful school supply drive in collaboration with the Chicago office.

“My team and I held a school supply drive to support a classroom at a local Chicago school. After the drive, we delivered the donations, and I have never seen kids so excited for school supplies.” He continued, “Teachers and parents came to tears when we walked in with the boxes of supplies. One teacher said she had never had everything needed for their classroom. As a child of a single parent myself, I was happy that I could pay it forward to help other parents.”

Andre prioritizes giving back and paying it forward, finding deep satisfaction in knowing he's extending assistance to those who may be in need.

Reflecting on his upbringing and his journey at Maximus, Andre acknowledges the invaluable support he received from others along the way. He emphasizes, "Many individuals helped me throughout my life and career at Maximus, without expecting anything in return. I'm committed to paying it forward by assisting others, just as those who helped me."

Giving back to the communities we serve is integral to Maximus employees, and the Maximus Foundation serves as a key avenue for collective action towards this goal. Established in 2000 by the Maximus Board of Directors, the Maximus Foundation operates as an independent, employee-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through the Foundation, employee donors combine their charitable contributions, leveraging Maximus' dollar-for-dollar matching pledge to amplify their impact on the grantmaking program. Furthermore, employees actively participate in the nomination and voting process for future grantee partners, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the Foundation's philanthropic efforts.

While the Foundation primarily focuses on grantmaking, it also facilitates broader corporate humanitarian initiatives and encourages employees to contribute their time and expertise to nonprofit organizations. Through their generous donations and volunteer work, employees play a crucial role in advancing the missions of nonprofits at the forefront of community service.
