LiveU Partners With DRONERESPONDERS to Advance Public Safety Drone Operations

05/12/2026

LiveU, a global provider of live IP video transmission technology, has entered into a strategic partnership with DRONERESPONDERS, the leading nonprofit organization focused on advancing public safety unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), counter-UAS, and Advanced Air Mobility initiatives. Already trusted by numerous public safety organizations for delivering real-time drone video to cloud-based platforms, LiveU enables command centers and field personnel to maintain a shared operational view during critical missions.

The collaboration aims to strengthen emergency response operations by combining dependable, high-quality live video streaming with drone deployments across law enforcement, homeland security, disaster response, and emergency management sectors.

As the global “Drones For Good®” initiative gains momentum, dependable and low-latency video communication between field teams and command centers has become increasingly vital. Through this partnership, LiveU will contribute to the DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety UAS Alliance by helping agencies understand how IP-bonding technology can address connectivity issues in demanding and unpredictable environments.
Improving Real-Time Situational Awareness
The partnership is centered on enhancing the connection between aerial intelligence gathering and rapid operational decision-making. Using LiveU’s LRT™ (LiveU Reliable Transport) technology, emergency response teams can securely stream high-definition drone footage through combined cellular, Wi-Fi, and satellite networks. This approach helps maintain reliable connectivity even in areas experiencing network congestion during disasters or large-scale incidents.

“Our focus has always been on equipping first responders with dependable tools that deliver the clearest possible operational picture in real time, whether on the ground or in the air,” said Jared Brody, Public Safety Business Development at LiveU. “Working alongside DRONERESPONDERS gives us an opportunity to further support professionals using drone technology to protect lives and strengthen community safety through better coordination.”
Major Areas of Collaboration Educational Initiatives: LiveU will join DRONERESPONDERS webinars and participate in the UNITE (UAS National Initiative for Training and Education) program, sharing expertise on effective live-streaming practices for public safety operations. Technology Demonstrations: LiveU plans to showcase its portable encoder solutions, including the LU-REQON1™ and LU900Q, integrated with leading drone platforms at major industry events such as OHCON, NCCOM, CALCON, and TEXCON. Supporting Public Safety Communities: The company will also contribute to DRONERESPONDERS’ nonprofit mission of advancing drone and related technologies to improve officer safety while helping communities become safer and more resilient.
Jason Day, Deputy Director of DRONERESPONDERS, emphasized the growing importance of live video intelligence in emergency operations. He noted that securely transmitting dependable, low-latency drone video to command personnel in both field and operations centers plays a crucial role in maintaining awareness, improving coordination, and enabling informed decisions during high-pressure incidents. He added that resilient video transport systems ensure critical intelligence reaches the right teams at the moments it matters most, even in challenging or high-risk situations.
