International Paper partners with Paper and Packaging Board for Box to Nature campaign


These efforts are aimed at making recycling more Informative and to encourage the habits of recycling.

International Paper has partnered with the Paper and Packaging Board for the Box to Nature campaign. 

The Box to Nature campaign is an industry-wide initiative to encourage box manufacturers to work with brands and ecommerce customers to print an informative consumer message on boxes to increase residential recycling rates.

According to The Recycling Partnership, around 40% of ecommerce boxes shipped to consumers are recovered for recycling1. While consumers have professed that they want to be more conscious of their environmental footprint:
  • Nearly 2 in 3 consumers confess they do not always recycle3
  • 46% of consumers would recycle more often if it “wasn’t so much work” 2
The Box to Nature campaign messaging is designed to be:
  • Informative – providing instructions on how to easily recycle
  • Memorable – easy to recall messages encouraging recycling habits
