HARMAN Achieves ISO/SAE 21434 Certification for Automotive Cybersecurity
During Cybersecurity Awareness Month, HARMAN is reinforcing its reputation as a reliable cybersecurity partner in the global automotive sector. HARMAN recently underwent an audit of its cybersecurity management system in alignment with the ISO/SAE 21434:2021 standard and successfully obtained a compliance certificate. This achievement bolsters the automotive supply chain for OEM partners.

This certification contributes to establishing a well-defined process for integrating cybersecurity into the design of road vehicles. It also offers a framework for organizations to recognize, evaluate, and manage cybersecurity risks throughout the entire lifecycle of their products. Its significance lies in protecting vehicles and their occupants from potential cyber threats while promoting a standardized approach to automotive cybersecurity industry-wide.

Given HARMAN's extensive experience in the automotive technology sector, the company is well-prepared to assist OEM partners in meeting the requirements of UN Regulation No. 155 (UNR 155). This regulation mandates that all OEMs implement a risk-based management framework (CSMS) to detect and safeguard against cyber threats throughout the vehicle's lifecycle. With HARMAN's cybersecurity products meeting the highest automotive cybersecurity standards, they ensure the security of both the vehicle and its passengers, instilling confidence in OEMs regarding the security of their supply chain.

“With cybersecurity consistently being a top priority for new vehicles, HARMAN is committed to delivering products and technologies that have a tangible impact on improving the safety of connected vehicles,” said Huibert Verhoeven, SVP of Intelligent Cockpit at HARMAN. “Through strong collaboration, HARMAN passed the audit and obtained certification for ISO/SAE 21434 compliance, further validating HARMAN’s track record of successfully advancing cybersecurity innovations within new automotive experiences.”
