Field to Market’s third annual report highlights growth in Climate Action across Agricultural Value Chain

Organizations across the agricultural value chain are now paying more attention to the climate change.

The Field to Market: Sustainable Agriculture Alliance™ has released the third edition of its annual report - Climate Action in U.S. Agriculture: A Compendium of Field to Market Member Climate Commitments.

The report provides an annual snapshot of the climate commitments made by 117 Field to Market member organizations from the 100 commitments published in previous reports.  It has been published in conjunction with Climate Week, which brings together organizations to celebrate climate action, explore ways to boost climate ambition and do more.

The Field to Market compendium shows that organizations in the agricultural value chain are increasingly paying more attention to the climate crisis, in growing recognition of the role the industry plays in managing sustainable change. In the third edition what is new is that progress towards reported climate goals has been communicated by organizations that are already making progress on ambitious climate goals and are willing to explain what needs to be done.

"The number of public goals and pledges our members have achieved continues to grow and we are proud to see progress towards achieving these goals," said Scott Herndon, President of Field to Market. "But we need to push ourselves and each other to achieve these goals. No one organization can solve this problem alone. We all need to work together to accelerate action on climate change across all segments of the value chain."

By combining promises into one package, Field to Market enables companies and organizations in the agricultural sector to benchmark their ambitions against their peers, improve climate performance, ensure pre-competitive collaboration, drive further research where needed and ensure transparency and accountability.

Through continuous improvement accelerators and related tools, Field to Market seeks to work across a diverse and growing membership to help transform climate ambitions into credible action that drives progress at all scales and environments.
