Feeding America Launches “Led by Neighbors” Campaign to Fight Hunger

02/09/2026

Feeding America has introduced its new “Led by Neighbors” brand campaign, which emphasizes that real change comes from people within communities—not just from organizations or programs. The campaign highlights stories from communities across the United States where individuals are supporting neighbors experiencing hunger, taking simple yet impactful actions to help ensure families have access to nutritious meals.

The campaign underscores the importance of community-driven efforts and showcases how everyday acts of kindness and collaboration can create meaningful progress. According to Monica Lopez Gonzalez, Feeding America’s chief marketing and communications officer, the initiative reflects what the organization sees daily—people facing hunger are central to driving solutions. She noted that whether it’s sharing food, volunteering at local pantries, or finding creative ways to make resources last, these actions demonstrate the power of neighbors coming together to make a difference.

Currently, an estimated 48 million people in the U.S. struggle at times to afford food due to rising costs, unexpected expenses, and other financial pressures. The “Led by Neighbors” campaign aims to shift perceptions by showing that hunger is not an isolated issue but a widespread challenge that communities are already working to solve. It encourages individuals to recognize their potential role in building sustainable, community-led solutions.

The campaign features new public service announcements and creative materials that convey a unified message: meaningful change starts with neighbors working together. By uniting volunteers, farmers, food banks, and supporters, small efforts can lead to lasting impact. Hunger affects millions, but collective action can help bring it to an end.
