FedEx Corporation, a leading global express transportation company, has announced the successful completion of its FedEx Library Program for fiscal year 2025. This initiative is designed to improve reading facilities in underserved and rural communities. During this period, the program reached 40 schools and communities throughout China, positively impacting nearly 9,000 children and educators. It played a vital role in enhancing reading conditions in disadvantaged areas and increasing educational access in remote regions.
In this cycle, the FedEx Library Program set up 40 reading rooms and book corners across 10 schools located in provinces such as Henan, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Tianjin, Anhui, and Shanxi. The program donated over 12,000 books and distributed 900 reading kits to 24 schools and communities, supported by dedicated FedEx employee volunteers. Additionally, FedEx’s China team contributed nearly 700 pre-owned books to 3,000 students in seven more rural primary schools, providing valuable reading materials. More than 70 FedEx China team members contributed close to 100 volunteer hours, improving the learning environment for students and teachers while helping promote cultural growth in rural settings.
“Since entering the Chinese market in 1984, FedEx has been devoted to connecting China with the world and using our resources to give back to the communities where we operate,” said Poh-Yian Koh, Senior Vice President of FedEx and President of FedEx China. “The FedEx Library Program exemplifies our commitment to bridging cultural divides and supporting development in rural areas. This achievement reflects our core values of teamwork and mutual support, motivating us to create a brighter future for everyone.”
Since its launch in 2012, the FedEx Library Program has achieved significant milestones across China, reaching 52 schools and communities. Over the past decade, FedEx has established 20 reading rooms and 193 book corners in underprivileged areas, donating a total of 57,550 books to benefit more than 19,000 children and teachers.
FedEx employees worldwide are encouraged to unite in their mission to "Drive forward. Give back." through volunteering and various community service activities.
