FedEx partnered with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand to support the Pa Deng community in Phetchaburi province by providing solar-powered water filtration systems. The project ensures residents have steady access to clean drinking water.
For years, the community has faced challenges with its water supply, especially during frequent power outages. By shifting to solar energy, residents can now rely on a stable water source to maintain proper hygiene and sanitation. More than 20 FedEx volunteers joined local residents to install the solar panels and filtration systems, directly benefiting over 1,900 people across four villages.
Sasathorn Phaspinyo, Managing Director of FedEx Thailand, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “Water and electricity are fundamental to community health. At FedEx, we strive to provide meaningful solutions where they are most needed. This project reflects our commitment to helping Pa Deng residents gain access to vital resources. I’m incredibly proud of our team for embodying our FedEx Cares values and making a positive difference.”
This initiative builds on FedEx’s ongoing efforts to uplift Thai communities. In the previous year, the company introduced eco-friendly waste incinerators and biogas systems in Pa Deng, replacing harmful disposal practices such as open burning and landfilling. These sustainable alternatives have helped manage organic waste while reducing pollution.
As part of its global commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, FedEx continues to advance environmental programs across its operations. These include expanding the use of electric vehicles, improving fuel efficiency, investing in renewable energy, and offering sustainable packaging options.
