This holiday season, Entergy was proud to support the long-standing Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund gift giveaway in New Orleans, a tradition that has brought holiday cheer to local families for an incredible 130 years. Entergy leaders and employee volunteers joined together to help distribute thousands of toys to children and families in need — a cause the company has proudly supported since 2016.
The annual event draws large crowds each year, with families lining up before sunrise to take part. Thanks to the generosity of individual contributors and corporate partners — including Entergy, UPS, River Parish Disposal, Fox 8 News, Element, Fidelity Bank, Folgers, and The Times-Picayune — approximately $120,000 was raised to purchase toys. Nearly 100 volunteers donated their time and energy to ensure the giveaway ran seamlessly.
Held at Xavier University of Louisiana, more than 30 Entergy employees volunteered to unpack and hand out gifts to families facing difficult circumstances throughout the New Orleans community.
“The Doll and Toy Fund reflects the heart of the holiday season and the power of giving,” said Drew Marsh, Entergy chair and CEO. “We are grateful to be part of an effort that delivers meaningful joy to families across the communities we serve.”
As families gathered in the parking lot, excitement filled the air as thousands took part in this beloved annual tradition. Last year alone, the fund delivered more than 12,000 toys across the metro area, and this year’s giveaway continued that impactful legacy.
Entergy’s dedication to community support extends far beyond the holidays. In addition to delivering reliable energy, the company remains committed to strengthening and uplifting the communities it serves through ongoing, purposeful initiatives.
