Empowering Change: Gilead's Commitment to Inclusion & Diversity in Health Equity

02/29/2024

This year, National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day embraces the theme "Engage, Educate, Empower: Uniting to End HIV/AIDS in Black Communities." We had a conversation with C. Virginia Fields, President and CEO of the National Black Leadership Commission on Health (Black Health), a recipient of Gilead's support, discussing collaborative efforts toward impactful change.

We applaud Virginia Fields and our numerous community partners for their ongoing dedication to advancing the progress made by Black communities in combating HIV over the years.

Inclusion and diversity are foundational to our company's success. Building a workforce that is both inclusive and diverse is crucial to fulfilling Gilead's mission, ultimately contributing to a better, healthier world. We are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive culture that enables everyone to excel and reflects the diversity of our patient population. However, we acknowledge the need to intensify our efforts to expedite progress for our employees, our business, and society.

Gilead's overarching aspirations regarding inclusion and diversity are:

To become the preferred employer for diverse talent To cultivate an inclusive environment where differences drive innovation and support our mission To be recognized for our fair and socially responsible practices
