These funds have been distributed to 12 Florida-based organizations and agencies to support a range of initiatives, including placing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in busy public spaces, offering CPR training, educating communities, supplying storm kits to senior citizens, upgrading weather tracking systems, and enhancing resources for emergency shelters.

"Even though storm season has officially begun, building strong and prepared communities is something we work on throughout the year," said Melissa Seixas, President of Duke Energy Florida. "We appreciate the ongoing dedication of our first responders, emergency personnel, and local agencies who continue to help our communities stay informed and ready. Preparation is our strongest protection."
