Comcast and 76ers Launch Philadelphia Digital Hub

10/02/2026

Comcast, the Philadelphia 76ers and North10, Philadelphia have opened a newly upgraded community resource center designed to provide North Philadelphia residents with free high-speed internet, technology access, digital skills training and workforce development opportunities.

The renovated community space gives local residents access to Xfinity WiFi, updated technology and expanded educational and career-focused programming.

Located at 3890 North 10th Street, the center received more than $150,000 in facility improvements, technology investments and program support from Comcast and the Philadelphia 76ers. The organizations have also announced an additional $20,000 in funding to support future programming at the facility.

The upgraded community hub includes:
Free high-speed Xfinity WiFi for reliable internet connectivity Renovated gathering and classroom areas equipped with digital displays New desktop computers supporting digital education and job-preparation activities A mobile laptop cart and laptops for flexible training sessions Improved audiovisual technology
Expanding Access to Digital Opportunities
“Strong communities are built when organizations come together to create opportunity,” said Dan Bonelli, Regional Senior Vice President, Comcast. “This space reflects the shared commitment from Comcast, the Philadelphia 76ers and North10, Philadelphia to expand access to the connectivity, skills, and resources that Philadelphians need to thrive – for generations to come.”

The initiative is also intended to give young people and families greater access to educational and career resources.

“Through our partnership with Comcast, we are investing in the next generation by helping youth and their families access educational resources, career development opportunities, and support systems at places like North10, Philadelphia,” said Mike Goings, Vice President of Social Responsibility and Fan Development, Philadelphia 76ers.

“Our passion for Philadelphia goes well beyond the buzzer,” Goings added. “Together, we are empowering students to reach their full potential, using the lessons learned through sports to build confidence, character, and success in the classroom, at home, and throughout their lives.”

For North10, the technology upgrades are intended to complement broader community services rather than simply provide new equipment.

“This investment is not just about technology; it’s about creating a welcoming environment where residents can build their skills, prepare for careers, and access the resources they need to succeed,” said Josh Klaris, Executive Director, North10, Philadelphia.

“We are grateful to Comcast and the Philadelphia 76ers for investing in our community and helping us expand opportunities for the people we serve,” Klaris added.

Part of Comcast's Digital Opportunity Efforts
The new center builds on Comcast's broader efforts to increase digital access and opportunity. Over the past three years, the company says it has invested nearly $3 billion in Pennsylvania to expand connectivity, develop next-generation technology and increase access to digital resources across communities in the state.

North10, Philadelphia works with families throughout North Philadelphia through initiatives covering areas such as housing stability, education, workforce development, wellness and community engagement.

With support from the H. Chase Lenfest Foundation, the organization aims to help local residents develop practical skills, connect with opportunities and strengthen their ability to succeed.

The newly enhanced community hub brings these efforts together by providing residents with connectivity, technology and spaces where they can develop digital skills, participate in training and prepare for employment opportunities.
