In circular economy, waste as well as pollutions are removed from the system by recycling materials and products and promoting regeneration of natural systems. This partnership, therefore, aims to deliver a joint effort in helping “companies evaluate their supply chain (ASCM)” to generate “opportunities to become more circular (EMF)” besides executing programmes that will “take advantage of these opportunities (PYXERA Global)”.

The commitment towards addressing “global challenges” and finding solutions for them is a common thread that binds all three of them together whereby prompting benefit of the “economy, people, and the environment”. Likewise, ASCM in collaboration with “its corporate members” to work on the development and the launch of “supply chain sustainability” standards along with “an associated enterprise level certification”, which will be compatible to the “Dow Jones Sustainability Index”.

Similarly, PYXERA Global works to design and effectuate programmes addressing “social issues material to a company’s core business and unique skill sets”. While, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation was started in 2010 with the goal of accelerating the “transition to a circular economy” and ever since it has established itself as a “global thought leader” that introduced “circular economy on the agenda of decision makers across business, government, and academia”. In the words of the C.E.O of ASCM, “Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE”:
“Companies are realizing now more than ever that the resiliency of their supply chain determines their ability to not only navigate through a disruption, but to bounce back in recovery. This collaboration provides an exciting opportunity to leverage ASCM’s global standards alongside the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circulytics tool with PYXERA Global’s expertise in building relationships and pinpointing purposeful global engagement opportunities”.

While, the chief executive officer of PYXERA Global, Deirdre White:
“Building ethical, inclusive, and circular supply chains have never been so critical to a company’s bottom line and to safeguard the future of our planet. We have an opportunity to create a new standard for supply chain excellence that is truly sustainable and the collaboration between ASCM, The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and PYXERA Global provides the foundation to break new ground”.

And the head of Network Development at Ellen Macarthur Foundation:
“We cannot achieve a circular economy until we can properly measure it. Circulytics is the Foundation’s circular economy metric tool, that is free to use, and can be used by any company regardless of size or complexity. It enables companies to measure circularity across their entire operations identifying good practice, and highlighting areas to adopt or further embed circular practices. By working with ASCM and PYXERA Global we can help shape global supply chains to become more circular”.
