ClassDojo Launches New School Communication Features for 2026

07/13/2026

As schools increasingly rely on digital communication, administrators are expected to keep families informed, foster stronger school communities, and coordinate outreach through multiple channels—all while navigating an expanding range of technology platforms.

Responding to feedback from educators and district administrators, ClassDojo has introduced a comprehensive set of new features designed to simplify schoolwide communication, improve family engagement, and provide school leaders with a centralized platform for managing outreach.

Widely recognized for its classroom communication tools, ClassDojo has expanded its focus beyond individual classrooms to offer a complete schoolwide solution that supports administrators, teachers, students, and families throughout the entire educational community.

The latest enhancements include multichannel announcements delivered via email, SMS, voice, and the ClassDojo mobile app, integrated Canva-powered newsletter creation, one-click social media publishing, schoolwide engagement analytics, and dedicated communication tools for middle and high schools that enable secure teacher-to-student messaging. These additions allow school leaders to communicate more effectively with families and students, highlight school achievements, reinforce core values, recognize positive student behavior, monitor engagement trends, and encourage improved student outcomes.

According to Jeff Buening, General Manager of ClassDojo, school leaders have consistently emphasized the need to reduce the number of disconnected tools they use rather than adopting additional software. He noted that while ClassDojo has long enabled teachers to build meaningful relationships with families at the classroom level, the platform's latest capabilities extend those benefits across the entire school, helping administrators strengthen communication, deepen family partnerships, and create closer connections between home and school.

Schools that have implemented ClassDojo across their campuses have reported notable improvements in family participation. Around 80% of families read messages on the day they are received, schools experience a 25% increase in active family engagement, and family-initiated conversations rise by approximately 20%. Additionally, nearly three-quarters of principals say the platform helps cultivate a more positive school culture while reinforcing expected student behaviors.

The newly launched capabilities enable schools to:
Deliver announcements across multiple communication channels by composing a single message that can be shared through the app and email, with SMS and voice call options available for district partners. Produce visually appealing HTML newsletters and announcements quickly using the integrated Canva design tools before distributing them through ClassDojo. Publish school updates directly to social media platforms with a single click. Monitor family and teacher participation through a comprehensive engagement dashboard, allowing administrators to identify opportunities for stronger connections and targeted support. Better serve middle and high schools through an enhanced user experience, communication tools designed for multiple classes, and secure messaging between teachers and students in eligible schools.
These improvements are intended to help schools strengthen relationships with families, one of the highest priorities for education leaders. To ensure accessibility for diverse communities, ClassDojo automatically translates messages into more than 190 languages, making it easier for multilingual families to stay informed and actively participate in their children's education.

The update also broadens the platform's support for secondary education by introducing features specifically tailored to the needs of middle and high school educators, students, and families.

All of the newly announced features for school leaders are scheduled to roll out for the 2026–27 academic year. ClassDojo will continue offering its platform free of charge to schools, teachers, and families.
