CRRC Zhuzhou Unveils 6.X Energy Storage System at Smarter E Europe 2026

06/09/2026

CRRC Zhuzhou Institute is set to unveil its new 6.X Liquid-Cooled Energy Storage System at The Smarter E Europe 2026, taking place from June 23–25 at Messe München. Visitors can find the company at Booths B2.540 and B2.640 in Hall B2. The product launch follows the successful completion of the company's 200 MWh Bohot Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Bulgaria, which achieved full grid connectivity in April 2026.

By May 2026, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute had expanded its energy storage footprint across more than 25 countries and regions. During the exhibition, the company will showcase advancements in its latest storage technologies alongside its track record of delivering energy projects throughout Europe.

Introducing the 6.X Liquid-Cooled Energy Storage System
The newly launched 6.X solution features several notable innovations.

Improved Space Efficiency
The system increases energy density by 25% while reducing installation footprint by more than 20%, helping developers overcome land availability and permitting challenges common across European markets.

Advanced Thermal Management
A top-discharge cooling architecture combined with adaptive temperature-control technology lowers thermal-management energy consumption by over 10%, contributing to higher operational efficiency.

Versatile Application Support
Designed as a comprehensive energy storage platform, the solution can be deployed across utility-scale generation, grid-support applications, and commercial and industrial (C&I) projects, allowing asset owners to optimize performance and returns in multiple use cases.

Proven Safety Performance
The company has released safety data from extensive fire-resistance testing and a six-level extreme-safety validation program conducted in accordance with UL 9540A:2026 and NFPA 855:2026, internationally recognized benchmarks for battery energy storage safety.

Demonstrated Success: Bohot 200 MWh BESS Project
The Bohot energy storage project achieved full-capacity grid connection on April 3, 2026, successfully meeting Europe's rigorous interconnection standards. The facility incorporates a modular design consisting of DC battery containers, integrated AC cabins, PCS units, and a 33 kV grid-connection system. Since entering operation, the project has delivered stable performance and gained positive recognition from local stakeholders and regulatory authorities, reinforcing the company's presence in the European market.

Commitment Beyond Energy Infrastructure
CRRC Zhuzhou Institute emphasizes local workforce development, skills enhancement programs, and regional sourcing initiatives to support domestic supply chains. Throughout project development and operation, the company implements environmental-impact assessments and ecological-protection measures focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and biodiversity conservation. Compliance with local regulations and international standards has helped establish strong relationships with government bodies and regulatory agencies worldwide.

Also Featured: “Chixiao” 460 kW PV Inverter
In addition to its energy storage solutions, the company will present the “Chixiao” 460 kW photovoltaic inverter. Drawing on engineering standards developed for high-speed rail applications, the inverter delivers 460 kW rated output and up to 506 kW maximum capacity while increasing power density by 28% compared to the previous generation. It also incorporates next-generation silicon-carbide (SiC) technology, helping reduce overall system costs for large-scale ground-mounted solar installations.

Attendees visiting Booths B2.540 and B2.640 in Hall B2 will have the opportunity to explore CRRC Zhuzhou Institute’s latest innovations and discuss emerging opportunities within Europe’s rapidly evolving clean-energy sector.
