CNH Industrial Facilitates Tech Support For Online Learning

12/26/2020

“Racine United School District” now operates hundred percent remotely making the “support centre” an inevitable means to “create a better teaching and learning environment”.

Dailycsr.com – 26 December 2020 – A manufacturing site of CNH Industrial, in Winsconsin, is supporting the local families in providing them access to technology needed to attend “homeschooling and online learning”. Likewise, the “Corporate Racine Site” of the company offered a “grant” to “Racine United School District” which addresses the hurdles faced during “online teaching and learning” process ever since the onset of COVID-19 pandemic.

The above mentioned district has been making efforts to provide internet access to all “its students” yet they found that “many families” required support for troubleshooting problems starting from dealing with “forgotten passwords” to “connecting to Wi-Fi”. The schools were not equipped to support with resources. Here CNH Industrial stepped in and helped the district to “hire a tech support company” for creating “a student call centre” accessible 24/7 for helping parents and students alike.

The said district under the school now operates hundred percent remotely making the “support centre” an inevitable means to “create a better teaching and learning environment”. In the first fortnight of the online class sessions, nearly six hundred families reached out to the centre for support. The plan is to keep the centre going till the classes resume in normal classrooms.

Furthermore, data revealed that as the pandemic started nearly twenty to thirty percent of students didn’t have internet access and devices for joining online classes from home, whereby giving rise to a “disproportionately affected non-White households”. This falls under “a longer-term relationship between the Racine manufacturing site and the local community”. Likewise, even in last fall, the plant gave a donation of “66 tablets to the Racine United School District” which were finally used in the Racine Alternative Learning Centre.

While, CNH Industrial added that it “supports a wide range of communities and educational initiatives local to its facilities as part of its company-wide community engagement and sustainability strategy”.
