Boosting Beverage Can Recycling: ECC's Impact on Global Waste Reduction
On Global Recycling Day, we celebrated the efforts of Every Can Counts (ECC) in promoting increased recycling rates for beverage cans worldwide. Through engagement with consumers at major events and offering valuable insights into the circular economy, ECC is effectively reducing unnecessary packaging waste.
Recent ECC activities include participation in the St. Patrick's Festival, where ambassadors gathered cans and showcased recycled can artwork to raise awareness about the benefits of recycling. Additionally, ECC's Mardi Gras initiative prevented over 150,000 beverage cans from ending up in landfills, tripling the amount collected in 2023.
We're proud to continue our support for ECC and are encouraged by recent reports indicating that beverage can recycling in Europe has reached a record level of 76.1% as of 2021. This signifies progress toward our ultimate goal of achieving 100% recycling by 2050.
