Blue Shield Foundation & Anthem Blue Cross Donates Free Sneakers To Kids

The collaborative donation’s aim is to motivate kids to lead a healthy life incorporating exercise in their routine.


Dailycsr.com – 24 January 2017 – The Boys and Girls Club in Manchester received two hundred fifty pairs of “new running sneakers” from “Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield” as “New Hampshire associates”. The kids of the Club will get these shoes free of any cost, thanks to the “Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation” as a motivation so that the kids take interest engage themselves in exercises.
 
In the words of the President of “Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield”, Lisa Guertin:
“We are incredibly excited about this gift to the Boys & Girls Club. The Club does a tremendous job of mentoring kids and we are proud to continue supporting those efforts. Hopefully this will put more kids on a path to fitness and help instill a lifelong love of exercise.”
 
Through a “collaborative effort” of “Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation” along with the “Two Ten Footwear Foundation”, the said donation was made possible. Talking about “Two Ten Footwear”, the Ethical Performance reports that:
“Two Ten Footwear is the national charitable foundation of the U.S. footwear industry and through its annual Footwear Cares program helps children by distributing new shoes and hosting events, programs and activities that will benefit some of the most vulnerable in our communities”.
 
While, the Two Ten Footwear Foundation’s President, Neal Newman, stated:
“We are both thrilled and honored to collaborate with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation on this important program. Helping disadvantaged children in our communities is central to our national Footwear Cares initiative, and we are proud to kick off our 2017 campaign by supporting the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Manchester.”
 
In the year of 1907, the “Boys & Girls Club of Manchester” was brought together, while at present it helps around five hundred fifty kids from all over the country on a daily basis by giving them “educational support, meals and physical activity”.
 
Moreover, the donations of sneakers will be given to the kids “who need new pair of shoes” through a “shoe pantry”. The Chief Executive Officer as well as the President of the “Boys & Girls Club of Manchester”, Diane Fitzpatrick, said:
“We are so grateful to Anthem and the Two Ten Foundation for being incredible partners and for providing the basic necessity of shoes to our kids. We have been strengthening our health programs this past year with the addition of a fitness center and running club, and the new shoe pantry takes our care for kids to a higher level”.
