Baldwins Crane Hire Company Has Been Sentenced To Pay A Fine Of ‘£900,000’

On finding Baldwins guilty of corporate manslaughter, the court made it a subject of heavy fine.


Dailycsr.com – 30 December 2015 – A corporate manslaughter leads the crane hire company, Baldwins, to be a subject of “£900,000” fine. The order came after the court convicted the company for the death of “a 49-year-old man”. The unfortunate one died “in a collision on a quarry access road”.
 
The sentence against the Baldwins Crane Hire was released on the 22nd of December 2015. The Preston Crown Court was at the decision making end, while the man who died was named Lindsay Easton.
 
A trial was conducted in the month of November, wherein the company turned out to be guilty of committing “corporate manslaughter”, whereby breaching “Sections 2(1) and 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act”. Consequently, the fine amount was announced as “£700,000” with an additional cost of “£200,000”.
 
Moreover, Baldwins has been instructed to “publicise the incident on its website for six months” besides putting up a “notice in trade magazine Construction News” within the period of next three months.
