Alfac Named In Ethisphere’s ‘World’s Most Ethical Company 2020’

Alfac becomes the only company from the insurance market to be part of Ethisphere’s annual list for the fourteenth consecutive time.

Dailycsr.com –29 February 2020 – On February 25, 2020, Aflac made an announcement to reveal that been once again featured in the “Ethisphere Institute’s list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® for 2020”, whereby marking the fourteenth consecutive years its prestigious feature. Likewise, Alfac is the only insurance company which has been part of the said list ever since its inauguration in 2007.
 
The Ethisphere informed that the recognition in the list of “World’s Most Ethical Company” is given to the companies practicing “long view with a purpose-based strategy”, striving to bring about a positive change. In the words of the Chairman as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Alfac, Dan Amos:
“Aflac is pleased to be among elite companies from around the world recognized for our commitment to doing business the right way. The fact that we have received this incredible honor for 14 consecutive years is a testament to the people and programs that define Aflac as a company that cares. We never take our positive culture lightly and are grateful to Ethisphere for everything they do to foster a purpose-driven global business environment.”
 
Last year, Alfacachieved significant milestones in its corporate social responsibility like “surpassing $140 million in contributions to the treatment and research of childhood cancer”. Moreover, the company also distributed over “6,200 My Special Aflac Ducks” free of cost to children facing cancer across Japan and the U.S. Recently, Alfac has also appeared in the “2019 Gender-Equality Index” of Bloomberg. The President as well as the chief operating officer of Alfac, Fred Crawford said:
“In addition to knowing that giving back is simply the right thing to do, Aflac prioritizes environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs because we understand that today’s investors and consumers demand strong ethics and values. A strong ESG program, inclusive of CSR, is an essential part of any successful company’s business plan. Companies like Aflac that appear on the 2020 World’s Most Ethical Companies list understand this and have an advantage over competitors who do not.”
