The 3M Open, working alongside 3M Community Impact and 3Mgives, hosted its fourth annual Golf 4 All Day event on Tuesday, July 22, at TPC Twin Cities.

More than 500 students from the Minneapolis–St. Paul area took part, enjoying an introduction to golf while exploring the exciting opportunities within science and skilled trades.

The event was organized in collaboration with Tickets for Kids and local partners including the Solomon Hughes Sr. Golf Academy, First Tee – Minnesota, and the Sanneh Foundation. Together, they created a welcoming atmosphere that celebrated golf as a sport for everyone.

Throughout the afternoon, participants engaged in activities designed to both teach and entertain. First Tee – Minnesota led “club-in-hand” golf sessions, while the 3M Swing Lab powered by TaylorMade, the 3M Open Primrose Playground, and interactive exhibits from the 3M Visiting Wizards STEM program brought science concepts to life in fun and accessible ways.

A star-studded guest list added to the excitement, with appearances from Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley, former NBA player Cole Aldrich, Minnesota Vikings legends Randall McDaniel and John Randle, ex-Vikings wide receiver Michael Floyd, and former Timberwolves player Wally Szczerbiak. Their involvement inspired and energized the young attendees.

This year’s program also placed a stronger spotlight on STEM careers and skilled trades, introducing the new 3M Safety Roadshow—a mobile training center designed to address the nationwide shortage of skilled trade professionals and the upcoming wave of retirements in the industry.

The Roadshow featured demonstrations of 3M’s industrial safety technology and personal protective equipment (PPE), along with hands-on activities in advanced manufacturing and workplace safety.

“So far, we’ve reached more than 1,300 students during six stops in Alabama, Arkansas, and Missouri,” said Torie Clarke, 3M’s Chief Public Affairs Officer. “We hope today’s Safety Roadshow and other experiences will inspire you—the next generation—to explore careers in STEM or skilled trades.”

The 3M Open and its partners expressed heartfelt thanks to all the students, 3M volunteers, and partner organizations whose contributions made Golf 4 All Day a tremendous success. The event showcased the power of community partnerships and the wide-ranging possibilities found in golf, science, and skilled trades.
