Entergy Louisiana was recognized for its strong commitment to supporting local communities at the Capital Area United Way (CAUW) Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon. Company leaders and employees received honors highlighting their contributions through service, leadership and charitable involvement.

The annual gathering recognizes organizations, volunteers and community leaders whose efforts support Capital Area United Way’s mission to improve lives throughout the region.

Jody Montelaro, vice president of public affairs at Entergy Louisiana, welcomed guests and emphasized the importance of partnerships in building stronger and more resilient communities. Cheri Ausberry, Entergy Louisiana customer service manager and outgoing CAUW Board Chair, also reflected on her term, highlighting the organization’s achievements and the collective results made possible by volunteers, community partners and supporters.
Entergy Louisiana received the Impact Partner Award, honoring the company’s exceptional commitment to the community. The award recognizes organizations that address changing community needs, demonstrate effective collaboration and best practices, and deliver meaningful, measurable results.

Ausberry received the Chairman’s Award, presented to the outgoing CAUW Board Chair in recognition of outstanding leadership, dedication, service and commitment during their tenure.

Entergy Louisiana was also named among the Top 10 Annual Campaign companies for employee contributions. The recognition reflects the continued generosity of employees who support programs designed to improve the lives of individuals and families throughout the Capital Area.

Together, these honors demonstrate Entergy Louisiana’s continued focus on creating positive community impact through employee involvement, volunteer service and strategic partnerships. Transit Technologies has unveiled the inaugural TMAC Client Impact Awards, a new initiative designed to recognize the individuals, teams, and agencies making significant contributions to the public transit industry. Nominations are now being accepted through October 2, 2026, with the award recipients set to be announced during the 2026 Transit Mobility Alliance Conference (TMAC) on Thursday, October 29, in San Antonio, Texas.

"Transit professionals work behind the scenes every day to overcome challenges that passengers rarely notice—from creating efficient detours that reduce travel times to maintaining fleets and expanding transportation access to underserved communities," said Gerry Leonard, CEO of Transit Technologies. "The Client Impact Awards were established to recognize these outstanding efforts and celebrate the people whose work makes a lasting difference across the industry."

Successful transit networks rely on the commitment of countless professionals, including agency executives, frontline employees, operations personnel, and support teams. Their expertise ensures dependable service, enhances customer experiences, and helps transit systems better serve their communities. The TMAC Client Impact Awards aim to highlight these achievements before an audience that understands the dedication and innovation required to keep public transportation moving.

Rider Impact Award
Presented to an individual or transit agency that has significantly enhanced the passenger experience through improvements in reliability, accessibility, safety, customer service, or innovative solutions.

Operational Excellence Award
Recognizes individuals and teams that demonstrate exceptional performance in managing transit operations, improving efficiency, and introducing innovative practices that strengthen daily service delivery.

Community Leadership Award
Honors leaders who extend their influence beyond transit operations by promoting community engagement, expanding access to transportation, and advancing equity initiatives.
How to Submit a Nomination

Transit professionals are encouraged to nominate deserving colleagues, teams, or agencies. The nomination process is straightforward and involves three simple steps:

Nominees must be registered attendees of TMAC 2026, while award winners will receive complimentary conference registration. Nominations must be submitted by October 2, 2026, through the official TMAC awards website.

Entergy is supporting recent high school graduates across its four-state service region by awarding $5,000 scholarships through its Community Power Scholarship program.

For 2025, seven outstanding students from Mississippi—along with children of Entergy employees—have been selected for their strong commitment to academics, community service, and leadership. These one-time awards can be used toward tuition at accredited vocational-technical schools as well as two-year and four-year colleges and universities.

“These students have shown remarkable determination to build promising futures while strengthening their communities,” said Haley Fisackerly, president and CEO of Entergy Mississippi. “Through the Community Power Scholarship program, we’re proud to help them pursue higher education and continue making a difference. Supporting the next generation of leaders reflects Entergy’s core value of giving back.”
