Food drives everything we do—it’s both our inspiration and our responsibility. As we reflect on the progress we’ve made toward our sustainability commitments, we’re also looking ahead, strengthening resilience across the entire food system. By investing in robust local supply chains and supporting the farmers, producers, and communities we work with, we bring our local focus to life and move forward in our purpose: connecting people through food while caring for one another.

About Sysco

Sysco is the world’s leading provider of food products and related services to restaurants, healthcare and educational institutions, hospitality businesses, and other organizations that prepare meals outside the home.

Q&A with Jennifer Duran, Group Head of Sustainability, Kenvue
Q: How is Kenvue’s sustainability approach changing now that it’s an independent consumer health company?
At Kenvue, we understand that human health and planetary health are inseparable. As a company solely dedicated to consumer health, sustainability is an integral part of how we operate and fulfill our Purpose—whether it’s through the products and solutions we provide, including many well-known global brands, or by minimizing the environmental footprint of our operations and sourcing practices. This is why we’re embedding sustainability directly into our processes, ensuring it is built in from the start rather than treated as an afterthought.

Q: Where do you see the biggest opportunities for Kenvue to create impact?
There’s enormous potential to collaborate across our industry to drive change—from suppliers to customers and end consumers. For example, on the ingredient front, we’re partnering with suppliers to better understand the full lifecycle of our raw materials, identify points of highest impact, and find opportunities for innovation or resilience-building. We also work through collaborative, non-competitive platforms like EcoBeautyScore, the Forum for the Future’s Climate and Health Coalition, and the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) to share expertise, improve transparency, promote responsible sourcing, and create more sustainable, resilient supply chains.

Q: What challenges do you foresee in the future?
While we have a clear strategy and defined goals, the road ahead requires balancing short-term actions with long-term resilience planning. The key will be staying focused on the issues that matter most, making deliberate and strategic decisions, and managing these priorities effectively. This is as much about fostering innovation and growth as it is about managing risks and strengthening our business and value chain.

Q: What excites you most about Kenvue’s sustainability journey ahead?
I’m especially energized by how our Healthy Lives Mission is becoming more deeply woven into our overall business strategy. I look forward to strengthening the links between sustainability, innovation, growth, and our mission to help people experience the remarkable benefits of everyday care.

DP World’s David D'Annunzio Discusses the Future of Automotive Supply Chains at Gartner Symposium
At the recent Gartner Supply Chain Symposium, David D’Annunzio, Global Vice President and Automotive Vertical Leader at DP World, joined Supply Chain Now host Scott Luton to provide key insights into the rapidly evolving world of automotive supply chains. The conversation delved into the ongoing disruptions shaping the industry, the growing complexities in global manufacturing, and what lies ahead for automakers worldwide.

A Sector in Constant Transformation
The automotive supply chain is undergoing a significant transformation driven by global upheavals, accelerated innovation, and changes in trade relationships. In this discussion, titled “Inside the Automotive Supply Chain with DP World’s David D’Annunzio,” listeners gained perspective on why instability has become the new norm, how DP World approaches strategic asset investments, the growing impact of Chinese car manufacturers, and the forces driving shifts in trade across the Americas.

Operating Under Intense Pressure
With extensive experience in the field, D’Annunzio described the high-pressure environment unique to the automotive sector. He emphasized that car production demands flawless timing, with vehicles rolling off assembly lines roughly every 60 seconds. Even a minor disruption can halt entire operations, illustrating how unforgiving this environment can be.

He also reflected on the long-term consequences of outsourcing manufacturing to lower-cost countries such as China, India, and Pakistan. While these decisions brought cost efficiencies over the years, they also introduced increased exposure to geopolitical and logistical uncertainties, making supply chains more fragile.

DP World’s Strategic Investment Philosophy
DP World distinguishes itself through an “asset-appropriate” model—acquiring key assets only when they enhance operational resilience and financial efficiency. Unlike “asset-light” companies that avoid owning physical infrastructure like ships or trucks, DP World invests strategically in ownership to better weather disruptions. According to D’Annunzio, organizations with critical assets at their disposal are better equipped to respond swiftly and maintain service continuity when unexpected challenges arise.

China’s Rapid Automotive Rise
The interview also touched on China’s disruptive influence in the global auto industry. D’Annunzio highlighted how Chinese automakers, particularly in the electric vehicle segment, are gaining ground quickly. He cited the BYD Seagull—a compact EV priced around $10,000 but offering features comparable to much higher-priced U.S. models—as a game-changer. He predicted that Chinese manufacturers might soon enter the U.S. market via alliances with local companies, echoing the strategy American firms used to enter China decades ago.

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where global leaders, innovators, and changemakers gathered to tackle today’s most pressing challenges.

The discussions reinforced the idea that building a regenerative future requires a well-rounded approach—minimizing our environmental footprint, maximizing positive impact through meaningful actions, and fostering collaboration with purpose and inspiration.

Engaging in thought-provoking conversations and forming new connections highlighted the importance of partnerships and collective efforts in driving real change. A key focus throughout the event was balancing the rapid growth of AI and digital transformation with initiatives aimed at improving energy efficiency and transitioning to clean energy. At Cisco, sustainability remains a top priority, from strengthening supply chain resilience to advancing AI-driven climate solutions and modernizing digital grids to support industry decarbonization and scalable efficiency.

Grateful for the chance to listen, learn, and connect with others who share a commitment to building a more sustainable future. By working together, we can accelerate progress and turn environmental sustainability into a tangible reality.
