Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada has published its FY25 Sustainability Report Supplement, detailing the company’s efforts to strengthen food-system resilience throughout the region. The report highlights initiatives spanning food production technology, recycling infrastructure, emissions reduction, environmental conservation and community engagement.

The regional report complements Tetra Pak’s 27th global Sustainability Report, which was released on June 5. The global report noted that the company had lowered greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by 34% compared with 2019 levels. Emissions from its own operations declined by 56%, while renewable energy accounted for 97% of the company’s global energy consumption.

The U.S. and Canada supplement focuses specifically on regional programs and results that contribute to these wider sustainability goals.

“Sustainability isn’t a separate initiative for us, it’s how we do business,” said Seth Teply, president and CEO of Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada. “Whether we’re helping customers operate more efficiently, expanding access to carton recycling or giving back to our local communities, we’re focused on delivering practical solutions that strengthen the security of food systems while reducing impact to the planet.”

Key FY25 Sustainability Initiatives in the U.S. and Canada
Food Systems

Tetra Pak successfully completed a U.S. field trial and is now commercializing the Tetra Pak® A3/Speed filling line for the Tetra Prisma® Aseptic 250 Edge with DreamCap™ 26. The system can produce 25,000 packages per hour, delivering output comparable to almost three Tetra Pak® A3/CompactFlex lines while requiring 50% less floor space and offering lower operating costs.
Employee volunteer programs supported food security efforts across North America. Volunteers helped pack 18,000 pounds of potatoes, 23 pallets of fresh vegetables and more than 13,000 meals for food banks.

Circular Economy

Tetra Pak helped extend access to carton recycling to nearly 2.5 million additional U.S. households during 2025. As a result, approximately 63% of households nationwide now have access to carton recycling.
The company supported ReCB LLC in launching operations in Iowa. The facility is processing around 6,000 tons of used cartons each year to manufacture roof coverboards.

Climate Action

Upgrades at Tetra Pak’s distribution center in Vernon Hills, Illinois, are projected to prevent approximately 50 metric tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada continues to source 100% renewable electricity for its operations.

Nature and Environmental Stewardship

Employees participated in cleanup, conservation and restoration activities at locations across the United States and Canada.
Sustainability Week provided employees with opportunities to learn from experts about topics including resilient food systems, responsible sourcing and carton recycling.

Social Sustainability

Tetra Pak continued its community engagement efforts by supporting local events through sponsorships and employee volunteering.
The company also reported continued progress in workplace equity and employee recognition. Tetra Pak was included in the U.S. News & World Report Best Companies to Work For list and was recognized within the Manufacturing and Agriculture category, placing it in the top 25% of more than 1,000 companies evaluated.

The FY25 supplement also emphasizes Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada’s ongoing partnerships with customers, municipalities, recycling companies, nonprofit organizations and industry groups. Through these collaborations, the company aims to contribute to food systems across North America that are more resilient, resource-efficient and sustainable.
