In July 2026, iQingdao developed and produced a feature video titled “China’s Rail Power on a Banknote,” inspired by the depiction of a CRRC Sifang-built train on the UAE’s newly issued AED 100 polymer banknote.

The banknote represents more than a new form of currency. Its design reflects the UAE’s aspirations for advanced transportation, stronger regional connectivity and sustainable economic development. The inclusion of a Chinese-made train also underscores the expanding contribution of China’s rail technology to the UAE’s infrastructure ambitions. This striking connection provided an effective way to introduce Qingdao’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to audiences around the world.

The video highlights the high-speed diesel multiple unit developed and manufactured by CRRC Sifang in Qingdao specifically for the UAE railway system. Engineered for the region’s challenging environment, the train is built to operate reliably under extreme heat as well as harsh wind and sand conditions. Its development combines technological innovation, market-specific engineering and sustained after-sales support, demonstrating how Chinese rail manufacturers are tailoring their technologies and services to meet the requirements of international markets.

Instead of portraying the train merely as an exported piece of equipment, the video examines the wider story of its entry into the Middle Eastern market. It illustrates how rail transit products manufactured in Qingdao are establishing a stronger foothold in the region while becoming increasingly connected with local industries, transportation networks and development objectives.

This evolution points to a broader transformation in international manufacturing cooperation—from conventional product exports to integrated partnerships encompassing technology transfer, technical services, maintenance and localized operations. The project also demonstrates how China’s intelligent manufacturing capabilities can support infrastructure connectivity while contributing to industrial cooperation and development in partner markets.
By linking the banknote’s eye-catching imagery with the industrial achievement it represents, iQingdao transformed a significant international development into an engaging story of technological innovation, cross-border cooperation and mutual growth.

The feature also strengthened the global profile of the “Made in Qingdao” brand, giving audiences across the Gulf region a deeper understanding of Qingdao’s expertise in rail transit equipment and advanced manufacturing. By presenting the city’s industrial capabilities through a compelling international story, the video extended the reach of Qingdao’s manufacturing narrative beyond conventional industry circles and generated broader visibility and communication impact in overseas markets.

DP World, a prominent player in supply chain solutions globally, has unveiled plans for an expansion of its North American freight forwarding network with the opening of two new offices in Texas. Situated in Dallas and Houston, these additions signify a significant stride towards enhancing regional connectivity and reaffirm DP World’s commitment to delivering comprehensive supply chain solutions throughout the Americas.

This expansion initiative is part of DP World’s broader global strategy to bolster its freight forwarding network, which was announced earlier this year. As a leading provider of supply chain solutions, DP World has established over 100 new freight forwarding offices worldwide since mid-2023, including 15 strategically positioned locations across the Americas. This move aims to strengthen the company's foothold in the region, building upon its existing operations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Suriname.

Texas holds pivotal importance as a freight forwarding hub owing to its strategic location in the southern United States. Its close proximity to major ports along the Gulf of Mexico and the Mexican border renders it an ideal choice for facilitating freight movement between the U.S., Mexico, and beyond. Furthermore, Texas's robust infrastructure, substantial trade volumes, and economic growth underscore its significance as a key focal point for freight forwarding activities.

Looking ahead, DP World intends to establish a total of 180 offices globally, complementing its extensive network of more than 430 business units in 86 countries. Future office openings are planned across the United States, Mexico City, Buenos Aires (Argentina), and Itajai (Brazil).

This expansion initiative aligns with the growing demand for robust supply chain management as DP World endeavors to enhance its freight forwarding capabilities, particularly in air and ocean freight. Leveraging its comprehensive portfolio of global assets, including ports, terminals, warehouses, trucks, rail, and shipping services, DP World aims to enhance control, resilience, and efficiency throughout the supply chain.

Terry Donohoe, Senior Vice President of Freight Forwarding at DP World Americas, expressed, “Our focused expansion will provide more value to our customers, enabling seamless access to our network within North America. With decades of trade expertise across the entire supply chain, we are well-positioned to efficiently move goods while ensuring resilience and end-to-end visibility for our customers.”

DP World remains steadfast in its commitment to offering a wide array of services, including order and origin management, port handling, and freight management for ocean and air transport. These services are complemented by destination services such as customs clearance, logistics, last-mile delivery, and warehousing. Additionally, DP World provides various value-added services, including embedded trade finance, commodity-specific solutions, and advanced hubs.
