In July 2026, iQingdao developed and produced a feature video titled “China’s Rail Power on a Banknote,” inspired by the depiction of a CRRC Sifang-built train on the UAE’s newly issued AED 100 polymer banknote.

The banknote represents more than a new form of currency. Its design reflects the UAE’s aspirations for advanced transportation, stronger regional connectivity and sustainable economic development. The inclusion of a Chinese-made train also underscores the expanding contribution of China’s rail technology to the UAE’s infrastructure ambitions. This striking connection provided an effective way to introduce Qingdao’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to audiences around the world.

The video highlights the high-speed diesel multiple unit developed and manufactured by CRRC Sifang in Qingdao specifically for the UAE railway system. Engineered for the region’s challenging environment, the train is built to operate reliably under extreme heat as well as harsh wind and sand conditions. Its development combines technological innovation, market-specific engineering and sustained after-sales support, demonstrating how Chinese rail manufacturers are tailoring their technologies and services to meet the requirements of international markets.
