Now in its 12th year, the Corporate Engagement Awards (CEA) recognizes the most successful and innovative corporate partnerships. For 2022, Surf Smart 2.0 has been awarded the Gold Medal in the CEA 2022 Best Educational Program category.
Created in partnership with World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), Surf Smart is an icon program that focuses on cyber safety education and empowers a generation of girls and young women to protect themselves and others online.

Surf Smart 2.0 is designed for Scouts and Guides aged between 5 to 25 and includes a variety of activities to suit different situations, age groups, learning needs and goals.

The curriculum's five principles focuses on positive online communication, protecting yourself from threats, understanding your digital rights and footprint, and envisioning a better internet that leads to positive, creative and enhanced online experiences for others.

WAGGGS is a great long-term partner and has reached more than 600,000 Guides and Girl Scouts in 44 countries since 2011. After completing the program, 90% of participants said they knew where to go.

“If you feel uncomfortable or feel at risk while being online, 97% of participants know how to fend for themselves. 98% can identify dangerous situations online while 98% agree to think twice before sharing something online,” said a member of the WAGGGS team.

“We have recently announced $1 million to increase the capacity of the Surf Smart 2.0 program across Europe, and plan on launching an online advocacy fund to support girls and young women interested in digital advocacy”.

This successful partnership is currently in its third phase and aims to reach 200,000 girls and young women by December 2024. This award celebrates Surf Smart 2.0 and recognizes ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility programs to support communities in real and meaningful ways.
