The Donation Of N.A.P.E Partners To I.P.A.A Will Allow High School Students To Undergo Advanced Academic STEM Learning Sessions
Dailycsr.com – 18 August 2015 – The “Independent Petroleum Association of America”, an educational foundation, received a donation of “$100,000” from the partners of the North American Prospect Expo, shortly known as N.A.P.E. The donation was presented as a check in Houston, the sum of which will be funding an educational programme, namely Energy Education Centre. The said attempt is a collaborative one, wherein the Independent Petroleum Association of America came along with “Petroleum Equipment & Services Association”. Through this programme high school students will be receiving “advanced academic STEM learning experiences” which will come in handy as a preparatory ground for their future gas and oil industry careers.

The chairperson of the N.A.P.E’s operators committee, Jeanine Haller Piskurich added:

“With half of America’s oil and gas professionals projected to retire in the next 10 years, it’s crucial for our industry to act now to bridge this gap by providing greater access to education and training for our next generation of oil and gas professionals. NAPE and its partners are committed to paving the way for the next generation of industry leaders and we’re proud to be able to do that by supporting the IPAA/PESA Education Center.”

The sum of “$100,000” will be also used by the Education Centre to invite guest speakers to deliver lectures “on teamwork and business dynamics, industry and college site visits, externship programs and industry-related competitions to Petroleum Academies”. These lecture sessions will incorporate participants from five high schools of “Houston and Fort Worth”, whereby the I.P.A.A’s C.E.O and the president Barry Russell states:

“Thanks to the generous support of the NAPE Partners, the IPAA Education Foundation can continue to build upon its commitment to education outreach and preparing the next generation of talented young professionals who will lead the future of the U.S. oil and gas industry. We are very grateful for this donation and we could not continue to prepare students to become effective leaders and global ambassadors in our industry without the help of NAPE Partners and our generous sponsors.”

The Energy Education Centre of I.P.A.A & P.E.S.A arranges “advanced academic” STEM learning sessions for high school students, the exposure and the experience thus gathered will prove a stepping stone for the youths’ career in the future. The attempt is to prepare the young generation to “pursue professional training and degrees in engineering, geology, geophysics and global energy management in the oil and natural gas industry”, informs BusinessWire. Moreover, the combined efforts of Fort Worth Independent School District, I.P.A.A & P.E.S.A Energy Education Centre and Houston Independent School District have “established five Petroleum Academies” in the area of Fort Worth and Houston, which include:

“...the Energy Institute High School, the Petroleum Academy at Charles H. Milby High School, the Petroleum Academy at Westside High School, and the Petroleum Academy at Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy located in Houston; and the Petroleum Academy at Southwest High School located in Fort Worth”.
