Meet Sandra Reyna: SAIC's Finance Manager and WOC STEM Rising Star
SAIC celebrates the remarkable achievements of our 2023 Women of Color (WOC) STEM award winners, who showcase exceptional performance and leadership in the field of STEM, reflecting the dedication and talent of our workforce. Among these outstanding individuals is Sujita Chatterjee, recognized as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer and honored as a WOC STEM Technology Rising Star.
 
In her role as a senior principal systems engineer at the Department of Homeland Security agency U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Information and Technology, Sujita Chatterjee has demonstrated exemplary skills in managing software implementation, Scrum planning, release cycles, and client communications, all crucial components of mission-critical applications. Since joining SAIC in 2020, she has consistently delivered high-quality results while taking on increasing levels of responsibility. Sujita's leadership extends beyond her technical expertise, as she actively mentors other women and students in her community.
 
Sujita's academic background includes a dual degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons.) and a master’s degree in Physics (Hons.). She holds certifications in Project Management Professional (PMI), IBM Data Science Professional, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and AWS Solutions Architect Associate, with ongoing pursuit of a master’s certification in DevOps.
 
Her dedication to continuous learning, coupled with her commitment to supporting her colleagues and community, exemplifies the values that drive SAIC's workforce – a shared mission, purpose, and a commitment to excellence.

Sandra Dorsey serves as the Cybersecurity Governance, Risk (GRC), and Compliance Manager at SAIC Innovation Factory, where she has been recognized as a WOC STEM Technology Rising Star. With over two decades of leadership experience in information security, governance, risk, compliance, and internal audit across prominent organizations such as Barclays, JPMorgan Chase, and Comcast, Sandra brings a wealth of expertise to her role.
 
Her responsibilities include cultivating new client relationships, nurturing existing ones, and adeptly managing challenging dynamics to enhance organizational effectiveness. Sandra excels in implementing cybersecurity frameworks and integrating standards like NIST 800-53, 800-39, and 800-171, along with industry-specific controls, to fortify security programs. She specializes in crafting policies and verifying controls to mitigate corporate risks while instituting robust technical defenses.
 
Beyond her professional endeavors, Sandra is deeply involved in community and philanthropic initiatives. She serves as the national co-chair for SAIC’s Women’s Employee Resource Group (WERG), actively supporting charitable causes such as Girls Inc. of Greater Washington, DC, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Additionally, Sandra has held roles as treasurer at her local church, school board chair at Sharon Temple Adventist School in Wilmington, DE, and member of the financial advisory board for Howard Vocational High School, also in Wilmington, DE.
 
Sandra holds a Master's in Business Administration in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Technology Management from Goldey-Beacom College. She is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor and Certified Archer Developer. Her multifaceted expertise, coupled with her commitment to community service, underscores her contributions as a leader in cybersecurity and beyond.

Jalese A. Giles holds the position of Business Process Analyst Principal and serves as the Operations Lead for the National Intelligence Community (NIC) division within SAIC's National Security and Space Sector. In her capacity, she oversees the management of NIC's SharePoint and Microsoft Teams infrastructure, as well as the distribution of Power BI dashboards and Tableau reports, crucial tools utilized by NIC to forecast business operations and foster collaboration on various projects aimed at delivering customer solutions.
 
Throughout her career in STEM, Jalese has demonstrated her leadership as a servant leader across multiple programs, taking on diverse roles such as project manager, test engineer, analyst, and scrum master. She is a strong advocate for continuous learning and excellence in STEM fields, finding fulfillment in the creative journey that STEM professionals undertake and viewing programming languages as a means to translate ideas from verbal and written forms into technical outputs.
 
Jalese is certified as a project manager, SAFe 4 Agilist, and scrum master, with ongoing pursuits of certifications in data analysis and the R scripting language. She holds a bachelor's degree in management information systems and services from the Reginald F. Lewis School of Business at Virginia State University, and a Master's in Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University. Her dedication to advancing in her field and her commitment to excellence exemplify her as a rising star in WOC STEM.

Mary M. Lorber holds the position of Senior Principal Business Solutions Engineer and serves as a vital member of SAIC's Navy Business Unit, providing business and engineering service solutions to the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD) in China Lake, CA. Her current focus lies in supporting weapons technology innovations for the Navy's AGM-88E medium-range air-to-ground Missile and Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (ARRGM) and ARRGM – Extended Range programs.
 
As a subject matter expert in model-based system engineering, Mary plays a pivotal role in advancing engineering solutions and serves as the principal architect for global positioning systems mode advancement processes and digital engineering sustainment efforts at NAWCWD.
 
Mary's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Maithili University and a post-graduate degree in Computer Technology from the Indian Institute of Computer Technology in Cochin, India. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Mary is deeply committed to promoting opportunities for women in STEM fields, particularly for middle school girls. She has dedicated six years to serving as a school board member and Cerro Coso Computer Science advisory board member, actively participating in programs like Expanding Your Horizons (EYH), which aims to inspire girls to recognize their potential and pursue STEM opportunities.

Sandra Reyna holds the role of Finance Manager within SAIC's Air Force, DOD Commands, and Agencies Business Unit, where she plays a critical role in compiling, analyzing, and presenting financial planning, forecasting, and analysis activities for various customer groups. Her duties encompass the preparation of annual and three-year strategic operation plans, conducting quarterly business reviews, and generating periodic/quarterly financial close reports. Sandra is also involved in supporting company-wide financial system upgrades aimed at enhancing corporate and operational planning, reporting, and analysis. Additionally, she contributes to the training of both new and existing system processes and functionalities within SAIC.
 
Recently, Sandra completed SAIC's AccelerātHER women's leadership program, which provided her with invaluable opportunities to network and collaborate with fellow women leaders within the organization. Through this program, Sandra honed her leadership skills by participating in courses focused on fostering an inclusive climate and navigating challenges such as the double bind.
 
Beyond her professional endeavors, Sandra devotes her time to caring for her toddler son and family members, demonstrating her commitment to helping others both within and outside the workplace on a daily basis. Sandra earned her bachelor's degree from William Paterson University and is fluent in Spanish.
